The property


The two-storey property, dating from the early 1800s, is of natural stone elevations under a slate tiled roof with a flat-roofed rear extension, which was added in the early 1950s. To the side of the house and the front garden is a large driveway and a double garage. Both to the front and rear are beautifully tended gardens, comprising: A mix of rose beds, shrubs, hedging, herbaceous borders, gravel and pathways.

A gravel track leads from the driveway, through the rear garden to a neatly mown paddock with panoramic views over the western edge of Malmesbury. Previously used for keeping livestock, the paddock has for many years been used as an extended garden area and includes two raised vegetable beds and a large (10.0 m x 5.5 m) storage shed on a concrete block base. A public footpath (MALM1) runs from Baskerville, along the western boundary of the land, through the woodland and then across the farm to the north.


Directions


From the top of Malmesbury High Street continue down the hill and, just before the bridge over the River Avon, turn left into St John's Street. Continue past the Bowls Club and Wynyard Mill and after about 40 to 50 metres you will find the garage and driveway of 54 Baskerville, on the left.
