It is a popular town that has still retained some of the old Spanish civilization. Although advancements keep on taking place however it is still known for its cultural values. The town is known for its agriculture facilitated by irrigation from the Segura River. The city has abundance of trees including those of citrus fruits, artichokes, cereals, and olive trees. There is some livestock as well. Also, there are some industries that serve as the source of income for local people. These include textiles, food, hides, and furniture and construction industries.
