Zoopla comes out of its shell with new campaign

Property website Zoopla with creative agency 101 is launching a new above-the-line campaign this month, which shows how Zoopla can help simplify the process of moving home, as told through the eyes of hermit crabs – the world’s most prolific movers.

The work, which includes a series of 60”, 30” and 10” TV ads as well as cinema, outdoor and digital, demonstrates how Zoopla can help equip those looking for their next property - and those in the midst of moving - with all the knowledge and tools they need to make the process as straightforward as possible.

Chief Marketing Officer at Zoopla, Gareth Helm, comments: “This is an exciting moment for the Zoopla brand, which has long been associated with helping consumers to make smarter choices when it comes to moving home. We are looking forward to revealing our fresh take on the topic and to showing how even the house-moving experts of the animal world – who, quite literally, carry their homes on their backs - can benefit from all the tools and advice that Zoopla has to offer.”

The first burst of activity, which launches on 17th April with a 60” TV spot, debuts all the crab characters who will subsequently appear throughout the year.

Gareth Helm continues: “The launch of this new campaign offers us the ideal platform to talk more about the evolution of Zoopla as a brand. Whilst we were once a property search tool, continuous development and new products mean that we now provide smarter tools and services to both search for your next property and move house as well."

The film work was directed by 101’s joint-ECD, Augusto Sola. “When we saw this idea, with these little guys who seem to share Britain's obsession with the housing market and moving, we all really wanted to make it happen. We knew it was not going to be easy to produce and capture it all in camera, but I'm interested in the work and in the journey...and this journey was quite special. From finding the right kind of hermit crabs and creating shell-homes for them to occupy, through to getting the crabs to 'perform'. Fortunately we've worked with some very talented and passionate people to create these films for Zoopla.”
