Zoopla to showcase lesson plans to agents via Zoopla Advantage in partnership with The Tech She Can Charter

1st May 2020

  • Lesson plans cover topics including finance and the environment to health & inclusion

  • Plans aim to help agents through period of reduced activity while schools are closed

Zoopla, the UK’s most comprehensive property destination and a founding member of The Tech She Can Charter, is to highlight a series of lesson plans to agents via Zoopla Advantage, its hub for property professionals. The 12 lesson plans, linked to the National Curriculum, are now aimed at helping agents teaching their children at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

The lesson plans were originally designed for schools by The Tech She Can Charter, a group of over 160 companies that aims to increase diversity in technology roles in the UK. Zoopla, has previously partnered with the organisation to launch ten Software Engineering Apprenticeships, a move welcomed by Digital Minister Matt Warman MP.

Commenting on the launch of the plans, Andy Marshall, Zoopla’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “There’s no doubt the reduced activity in the housing market and the closure of offices has led to agents having more time at home. As a parent of two children of school age I’ve had a steep learning curve about how difficult it is to replace the expert education that a teacher can provide!”

“At Zoopla we want to support our agent partners through this difficult period. We know that there is a lot of uncertainty and this is understandably causing anxiety for many in the industry. These lesson plans will we hope make life slightly easier for agents and their families until normality returns to the market.”

The lesson plans aim to inspire children to pursue a career in technology. They cover a wide variety of topics looking at how technology is changing the worlds of education, finance, the environment and communications amongst others.

Agents who wish to benefit can learn more about the lesson plans at The site also features a short video providing agents with extra guidance on using the plans at home, as well as an FAQs section.

The Charter is also hosting free technology lessons for students via a webcast. Each lesson is 20-30 minutes long and will be led by a qualified teacher, who designed the lesson plans. A challenge will then be set for the students to complete in the hour or so following the lesson. All parents or carers need to do is register with their details at and encourage their child to tune in at 10.30 every Tuesday morning.
